The aim of the Flight Instructor (Balloon) extension for Instructor training - so called train the trainer is to train you, as a holder of the FI(B) to the level of competence defined in point BFCL.325 for the training of the future balloon instructor. This FI(B) extension training complies with the specific requirements referred to BFCL.315(a)(4)(ii) regarding instructional privileges for the balloon instructor certificate FI(B).
As an applicant for Balloon Flight Instructor extension training for instructor trainings, you have to be at least 18 years old and be a holder of the Balloon Pilot License and valid Hot-air balloon class rating with privileges for the respective group of balloons. The course takes approximately 1 day. The Balloon Flight Instructor extension training to instructor course course consists of 1 flight lasting approximately 1 hour with associated pre-flight and postflight briefing.
Theoretical Knowledge Instruction consist of single module of Technical training. It is integrated into the long briefing of the flight exercise and taken prior to the training flight. The content of the briefings is consistent with the flight training of the BPL trainings.
